I’ve been an Occupational Therapist for over 30 years, and while I still love the work, the industry has shifted in ways that don’t align with why I became a therapist — to help people. Nowadays, healthcare feels more about profit than patient care, and that focus has drained a lot of the passion for me.
I wanted to find something where I could still use my skills and help others in a meaningful way. After attending a virtual seminar where an OT discussed being a travel agent specializing in accessible travel, I was intrigued. It took a few weeks to decide, but with support from my husband, I dove in.
A year later, I’ve learned so much, connected with incredible people, and traveled more than ever. The photo is from a retreat our team held in Las Vegas, where we gathered to learn and connect.
This year, my focus is on traveling even more and sharing this opportunity with others. I love helping therapists find a way to supplement their income through accessible travel, allowing them to continue using their skills and make a meaningful difference while gaining more financial freedom.
